For countless students, school is a mandatory pastime, enforced by law and the threat of not graduating. For other students, though, school is a place where they can go and learn new things. These students are aware of the importance of learning and enjoy going to school. They feel that being educated properly is a necessity. This need to learn drives certain students to be the best that they can be in every classroom. Unfortunately, several of these students must sit in what can be considered a “boring” classroom because of a lack of stimulation, low teacher participation, and/or different learning speeds.

In very few classrooms there are teachers who choose not to actively participate in their classrooms. This is because they are thought of as “burned out”. These teachers have lost their passion for teaching or do not fully appreciate their subject. A large percentage of the class’ student body will suffer because instead of only a few students not actively learning, the whole class is unable to receive the knowledge of the course. When in a classroom like this it is best to just do the work and assignments given without argument or disruptions. Since much of the time the teacher is unwilling to work with the student, they are unlikely to listen if a student were to question their teaching style. Mrs. Snelle, junior English teacher, would sit back in her desk chair as her students completed countless worksheets meant to strengthen their vocabulary and grammar. The students asked for lessons and individual help, but Mrs. Snelle would refuse and punish those who asked more than once. This behavior can cause outbursts and fits of anger from both the student and teacher. This is not completely the teacher’s burden, though because a student must be willing to sincerely ask for help and understanding. Both must be motivated to work for the betterment of the
