In reflecting on the image and the aftermath of 9/11, I am inspired by the true commitmentof firefighters and law enforcement that made the ultimate sacrifice, many dying that day and overcoming their fears and running towards danger as opposed to running the other way and to safety. I see this as a commitment which is difficult to be expressed in words, other than to appreciate their sacrifice with the recognition and the awe it deserves. I have to wonder if it could have been just a question of seeing if they could do it, beat US intelligence and law enforcement agencies, highlighting a Superpowers weakness and security vulnerabilities, but to what end? If Al-Queda thought they could overcome the loss of life, particularly the children and women who died that day in addition to creating a series of heroes who emerged from the firefighter and police ranks they
