Prostate cancer is a silent cancer typically discovered when it is too late for treatment. It is the second-leading cause of death in men over the age of fifty. It is necessary to go for regular prostate checkup starting at the age of forty-five any earlier, and it cannot be diagnosed at all.
The prostate is located just below the bladder and in front of the rectum. The prostate is walnut shaped gland responsible for making part of the seminal fluid that mixes with sperm. It wraps around the urethra, a tube that transports the urine and the semen.
Early on, this cancer does not have any visible signs and can go on growing without notice until it is too late. The belief is that prostate cancer is hereditary; if you have a father or brother diagnosed with prostate cancer, you have a high risk of developing this cancer.
