The Pool Party
Every summer at Casa De Prado Condominiums’ the home owners complain about the pool. The biggest problem about the pool is there is no structure to how its maintained. Basic information about Indiana State laws regarding pools confuses monitors. Just having the pool open and close every day is a problem. Imagine a hot day and standing outside the gate, looking at the pool that is not opened. The cleanliness of the pool has come up. These issues affect the home owners of Casa their guests and are a constant headache for the board members. There are some possible solutions to these ongoing issues. Solutions like pay the current volunteers; establish a single pool manager of the pool; to send out keys to all residents.
One solution is to pay pool monitors who previously were volunteers, from the property owner’s fees to maintain and keep the pool open. It would be a combination of hired monitors and volunteers. This has worked in previous years. The president of Casa De Prado Home Owner Association, Ron Watkins, explained in an interview how the pool ran in the past (personal communication July 7, 2010). Watkins’s was unaware of Indiana State Laws for pools as well as standard pool operation sanitation practices. These could be useful in clearing up any legal miscommunications and health risks to pool goers. This solution makes the most sense.
This is not a popular solution with the community because of the expense issue. Yet, that is what the funds are for. Home owners pay home association fees for what the community needs. Director Paul Feig that is well known for his works in Freaks and Geeks, The Heat, and I am David worked on the movie Bridesmaids. Bridesmaids is one of the examples of Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey, where the hero face through certain challenges in life. Annie Walker will be the main character of this movie that portrays the hero’s journey. She who has been having problems throughout her life, goes through hardships in order to fulfill her friend’s happiness. Her mother always tells her that “Hitting bottom is a good thing. Because there’s nowhere to go but up” (Bridesmaid). Without thinking twice Annie tries her fullest to impress her best friend to become the maid of honor. Even though another woman is trying to take her place, still, she heads forward to where it would be the hero’s treasure. In this case, Annie’s treasure would be her friendship. The goal of the hero’s journey would be getting what the hero aims for. This movie clearly illustrates some of the steps in the hero’s journey; Annie’s treasure, her hard life and her rivalry.
If I were Holbrook my initial goal would be to correct the water and sanitary sewer systems problem. I believe it is the community responsibility to pay for the up-keep and maintenance of the two facilities, because it is the community who is reaping the benefits of these facilities. I would recommend the council to combine the sewer (330,800) and water (158,090) expenditures to the sewer (113,000) and water (379,350) capital program expenditures, and incorporate the two as one revenue fee. This would allow the revenue fees to pay for the operating cost and the reconstruction cost of the two facilities. Making them one fee would give the council more leeway in increasing total revenue cost for these services. In general, people tend to see one bill instead of two as a deal instead of a problem. This is almost like the buy one get one free philosophy; you know the store has raise the price of the item you are purchasing so that you are paying for the item you’re getting free. The propose revenue fee would total 648,170. The 700 water customers and the 3000 sewer customers would pay for this fee. I believe that we should continue with construction on the Rio Salado Project because of all its benefits to the valley area. The plan I am proposing is comprehensive of many plans already proposed since Rio Salado was first an idea over 30 years ago. The difference is that my plan combines the positive features of many different plans to make a new one. This includes ensuring that Town Lake provides a safe environment for all activities, providing flood control, encouraging development along the river, promoting recreation, improving the regional quality of life, attaining the economic benefits of the area, while still maintaining the historical content of the area.

Parties can range from house warming parties, to birthday parties, holiday parties, engagement parties, etc. You can even throw parties just to have fun. Find a reason to celebrate, whether it is a holiday, a special occasion, an achievement, a big announcement, a new endeavor, a job well done or a journey completed. The reason you are partying will set the tone.
