My Personal Relationship

Having this verse instilled in me since I was a young child, it has become the basis for my religious belief system. Growing up my religious belief system was greatly influenced by two very important people, my grandmother and my aunt. Both women taught me everything from the traditions we celebrate to the advantages and disadvantages of our beliefs. However, as I grew older so did the desire to learn of other religions. As I studied many different forms of religions, I came to realize that the religion itself is not important. At this point in my life, I no longer believe in organized religion. I do however believe in a relationship, I also believe that it is very important to establish that relationship.
My beliefs are simple. Primarily I believe in one God, who created the universe and all that is in it. I also believe in Jesus Christ as being God's presence in human form and the fact that he died for us so that through him we can come to know God. Lastly, I believe human beings are created in the image of God. Since we are physical and God is very spiritual, there are obvious differences. With God, we share the fact that we are rational beings, capable of making our own decisions, and having relationships with each other and with him. All these beliefs make up a religious belief system, Christianity. However, Christianity shares many beliefs and practices with other religions, particularly Judaism and Islam. All three religions believe in one God, who not only created everything but whom is active in guiding and teaching his people. There are many other beliefs that I have that attribute to my belief system. However, these three are the utmost important, and are what primarily make up my religious belief system.
As I stated above my beliefs were greatly influenced by my grandmother and aunt. They are two of the Godliest women I know. From as early as I can remember they were always teaching and sharing the word of God with me. My aunt spent a majority of her life as a missionary, helping to spread God's message with those who had no other way of hearing it.

So, what do I believe about God, the Bible, and Jesus Christ? I believe that God is the creator of all things great and small, he has a love for his creation like no other, and He is the only, one, true God. Colossians 1:16 ESV says “For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.” Also found in the book of Genesis is the step by step details of the creation of the earth and its inhabitance. Genesis 1:1 ESV “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” There are many scriptures in the Bible that speak of God’s love for us. Psalm 86:5 ESV is one of them “For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving,

Every religion has its own goal, and their own path and believe to reach their goals, however there are also many similarities in believes. Although the followers of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam may see things differently, they all fundamentally hold the same values and codes. To Islam, the Prophet Mohammad’s teaching is a complete and final revelation. On the other hand, according to the bible, Christianity believes that Jesus Christ is the true lord and savior will grant you the access to heaven in the afterlife. Judaism is founded by Abraham, and it is the base from which both of the other two religions sprung. Even though the three religions differ in many areas and on many aspects, they also agree on the monotheistic, the belief in ‘One True God.’ Those religions have many similarities and a number of significant differences about God, role of women, prayer, and salvation.
Monotheism is the belief in the existence of one God. There are three of the most influential monotheistic religions in world history today known as Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. These three religions share both vast similarities and differences. One significant similarity they share is the belief in one deity. The belief of one God gave many people guidance and purpose in their lives. For this reason, these three religions gained many followers and believers who had faith in God. Through faithfulness in God, many were promised eternal paradise. In the following paragraphs, I will explain the similarities and differences between the rituals, holy scripts, and salvation that these religions shared.
This verse has greatly impacted my life for many years. 20 plus years ago, while I was in nursing school, I had two sisters killed due to domestic violence. This was a most devastating time in my life. I wasn’t sure if I could even continue my college education. The most vital part of this story is that along with my sisters in that house was also my 6 year old niece. She survived this tragic event. It was a double homicide, suicide. I completed my associate degree in applied science. The rest is now history. This verse has already brought me peace in my past and I believe will continue to offer peace in my future. Most importantly is the “hope” that the Lord gives us. Sometimes in this life, hope is the only thing we have to make it through the day. My belief in God has been so ever strong because of my life experiences. I have thought about this scripture for I know the plans I have for you many times. Although many religions have different sects; which, may share different ideas just like in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. It is evident that these religions believe in one god. The teaching and traditions of each religion make each religion unique in its own way.
In Conclusion, these passages from two different religions contain message and clues to questions regarding human existence. I can quote the whole scripture and recite Quran word-to-word, but unless we are willing to get involved and change, we are only blowing smoke. Yet, Christians, Muslims, Jews, Catholics, Protestants, Hindus, Buddhists, African Americans, Native Americans, Hispanics, Asians, the poor, the homeless, the unattractive, gays, lesbians, the handicapped, the mentally ill, and countless other groups are still sometimes the victims of ridicule, hatred and discrimination.
