This is the last critical thinking essay and I 'm glad to say this has been my favorite class by a longshot. I value what I have learned, what I will continue to learn and to possibly take your next class. I 've experienced many types of teachers and I appreciate how much effort and all you 've done for us all.
This week 's material consisted of learning about prisons and different levels, parole, and corrections. Each week has different information but it all ends up tying together. I will expand upon what I have learned and what each topic entails.
The first assigned reading was module 5: corrections. I love how the book gives real life examples and makes it easy to understand or even relate back to it in one way or another. Anyways, It talks …show more content…

After talking about each level of prison it then went on to talk about rehabilitation, I 'm not sure how I feel about this topic. Rehabilitation could insist of "Psychological counseling, alcohol and drug counseling, anger management initiatives, literacy program, GED courses, higher education opportunities". Although this may work for some, it is not effective for all. I believe you should get a limited number of chances. To help criminals is an odd idea to me, not saying im against it, just observing. Module 5 also tells about the differences between some of the jobs, such as wardens and services etc. The prices for inmates astounded me, it showed that on average one inmate could cost $47,102! That 's for ONE person. Blows my mind. I also learned the difference between jails and prisons, I had not had a clear idea of the difference till now. Prisons are run by both state and federal government and are mostly located in rural locations. Jails on the other hand are run by the county or city governments and are located within the city. A jail is where suspects are held for more than 48
