In this essay I will describe to you why I decided for my career to be a Marine Engineer and also any Marine Employee. I will help you understand why, by going through the topics of education, the history, duties, job requirements, advancement through the career, and any benefits that come with it.
The 1st thing that I am going to talk about is the education requirements. For you to become a Marine Engineer or Naval Architect you must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree and there is also no on the job training. Entry level jobs in Marine Engineering and/or Naval Architecture require a Bachelor’s degree in marine engineering, marine systems engineering, or marine engineering technology. Programs typically include courses in calculus, physics, and computer-aided design. The courses that are specific to ME’s and NA’s include ship hull strength, fluid mechanics, and mechanics of materials. Some also have degrees in mechanical or electrical engineering. Students interested in preparing for this career may find it a benefit from taking high school courses in math (algebra, trigonometry, and calculus) and also in science such as chemistry and physics. For aspiring NA’s, drafting coursed are also beneficial.
The job requirements of a US Marine Engineer/ Naval Architect require a Bachelor’s degree. Also they must usually take an exam for a mariner’s license from the U.S. Coast Guard. The 1st stage of the license is known as the 3rd Assistant License. With more experience and more testing, a ME may get a 2nd and then a 1st Assistant License. Apart from other military duties, marines also provide security on navy property and guard U.S. Embassies and consulates around the world. On the other hand, the Coast Guard is highly responsible for enforcement on maritime law but is usually known for S&R efforts at sea.
In these last several paragraphs, I have told all about every branch of the military and about my career as a marine engineer. In this career, you make good money, have good education, and learn lots of new materials required to stay a worker here. Now that I have told about my career, I must now achieve my goal of joining this career. This has been an essay over my career.
