Are you part of a community and you don’t even know it? A community is a feeling of fellowship with others because one shares common attitudes, interests, and goals. In the remix text “It Takes a Tribe” David Berreby talks about how college students make “tribes” within their school and tribes against other schools. This text relates to my community because the One Direction fandom could be considered a “tribe” full of fans who are against other fandoms of other artists because they all think they 're the best.One direction is a very popular boy band thats known all over the world and very successful. If fans don 't do this other fans will start to assume they don 't like One Direction and they wont be considered a fan in their eyes. A fan should also vote for them in every award show they are part of so One Direction could win. This is almost considered a competition in the music world. This shows other fandoms , social media and One Direction , how Directioners are “the best fan base in the world”. They must also stick through every bad scandal that happens in the band. For example, when Zayn , a member of One Direction, left the band, many fans left the community because he was their favorite member of the band and those fans were no longer considered “Directioners”. By going to as many concerts as they can, fans help the band sell more and you help themselves look and feel like a bigger fan. I personally went to all of their bay area concerts and had to drive down to Pasadena, CA for one when they didn 't have a show here. This made me feel and seem very devoted to the band . Socializing is another big thing in the community of directioners, it helps you meet more people in the same community and creates friendships. For example, just last week I visited a friend in Stanford University who I met through One Direction and I 've made many other online friends that i have more in common with than people around me. Many fans devote their time to fan accounts that they have created to be able to connect with fans and talk about their problems and also talk about the bands
