Kid Rock, Fuel, and Buckcherry For my first critical essay, I have chosen to review my attendance and experience at a rock concert. On Thursday January 18, at the Scottenstein Center in Columbus, I attended the concert of the controversial Kid Rock. Other performers at the show included rock bands Fuel and Buckcherry. Although there were only three bands that preformed that night, I found another source of entertainment within the crowd of people; the wild antics of the die hard fans. In my essay I will try and attempt to describe as realistically as possible, my experience. Prior to the concert I had been somewhat familiar with all three bands' music. I was excited to attend the show, but I didn't know what to expect. I had always thought of Kid Rock(the headliner) to be a punk/hard rock band. I had only attended alternative concerts in my lifetime, so I had never had an experience like this. The other band, Buckcherry, was also a hard rock band. Fuel, on the other hand, was more of an alternative style band. Their music was more my style than the other two. To begin the description of my experience, I arrived at the arena shortly before the opening band appeared. At this time, there were not very many people in the audience. Actually, I was wondering where all of the people were at. I had purchased General Admission tickets, so my friends and I decided to grab a close spot near the stage. We settled on a spot roughly ten feet from center stage. We later found this choice to be a mistake. As I glanced around, I saw a large variation on audience members. I saw everyone from children, teenagers, college students, and middle aged adults(who may have been accompanying their children). ... ... middle of paper ... ...unk rock , and alternative rock. I personally enjoyed the show, and I know that my friends did. It was obvious that he fans were having a great time at the show, judging by their antics, so I would say that all went well. After being better familiarized with the bands' music, I would have to say that I might even go see them perform again. Everyone left me with a good impression, and I would say that I was satisfied. I think the most important thing that came out of this event though, was the fact that I started to pay attention to little things like the fans' behavior, the general style of the band, and most importantly, the meaning of the songs. From now on I am going to dig a litter deeper into the surface of the song to et something out of it.. I realized that songwriters do not write songs solely to relay a feeling, but to get a message across.
Initially, we had a hard time finding our seats but once discovered the game was quite entertaining and sensational. As was previously stated, we had a hard time finding out seats and yet, I couldn’t help but ponder what aspect of kinesiology the ushers were failing to accomplish by sending us from one place to another thus, the ushers were part of the sports management aspect. Anyhow, once our seats had been located it was off to the vendors to find a nutritiou...
The night was young, times were crazy and it was only the beginning of my senior year. It was still warm out and it still felt like summer; we didn’t know that we could have this much fun in one night, but we knew we were going to have fun no matter what. My first concert had to be one of the best nights of my life and one of my most favorite nights of my life during my senior year. It all began when my buddy Alex Kramper decided to give me a phone call and wanted to know if I wanted to go to an Imagine Dragons concert at the Verizon Wireless Amplifier Theater for only twenty bucks, I responded with a hell yeah, the concert was only in a weak.
...een to. It was my second time seeing them and I would see them a third time. By far one of the coolest parts about the concert was for their encore when they brought their guitar sponsor, Paul Reed Smith on stage and had a little guitar duel with him before allowing him to play on their encore, “Rise Today.” The band interacted with the crowd very well and I do not think a single person left the show disappointed. The guys in the band are all very nice as well, I would know since I had the opportunity to meet them the first time I saw them. They were all grateful and thanked everyone for coming out to the show. Alter Bridge is definitely one of the cooler, down to earth bands left today, and Myles Kennedy has to be one of the hardest working men in the music industry today.
...e bus and off we went. As soon as we arrived we were told that the kick off would be in ten minutes. After a quick warm up we were ready. My hands were shaking, heart pounding but I couldn’t wait to start. When the game started my nerves escaped from my head and I was focused on the match.
It was a cold November night in Virginia. The football game had just ended at Liberty University, and it was time for the concert. I had listened to NEEDTOBREATHE all my life but only really on the Christian radio stations. However, they were definitely one of my favorite Christian bands. The only other performing artist who I knew at the concert was Mat Kearney, but the other two bands, Welshly Arms and Parachute, I had never even heard of before. Even though I had listened to the other two bands, I didn’t really know much about any of them except for what their music was like. It was almost a coincidence getting to see them. I was visiting the university in search for answers to my further academic pursuits, and the university just happened
... in Amityville in 2009 when they opened for Rise Against. Dan Campbell, the singer, gave everyone a free copy of their album just to get their name out there. They are now at the peak of the pop punk genre by selling thousands of albums, playing the main stage at Warped Tour and headlining a show at Best Buy Theater this April. Bands that make this sacrifice and eventually make it to a successful level deserve the natural rush music gives them.
When we arrived, a sizable crowd had already gathered. In the main entrance area, a large number of people walked around looking for tickets, talked to each other, and some made their way toward the main chapel where the performance took place. After we walked around for a couple minutes and received our tickets, we made our way to the chapel’s entrance, had our tickets taken, and walked into the performance space where I took my seat in the far back right corner.
Compared to all the other concerts that I have gone to, the Ron Eschete Trio concert was a definite change in atmosphere. On February 23, 20001 I attended a concert held at Ahmnson Building in Los Angeles County Museum of Art, featuring Ron Eschete on seven string guitar, Todd Johnson on six string bass, and Paul Humphrey on drums. It was three hours long, from 5:30 to 8:30. I arrived there little late because it said to be held on times mirror central court but it was actually playing at lower level of Ahmnson Building.
The friend I went with is a huge music fan. He enjoys all genres, from David Bowie to Bloc Party and everything in between. We were both equally as excited about the concert and maybe a little less excited about the adventure out to All Phones.
It was New Year’s Eve. Often during so, the clubs and bars would be brimming with youth and underage teenagers waiting to count down to New Year’s Day. However, I spent my New Year’s Eve in the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The sports arena was mostly crowded with middle aged adults and everyone was there not to watch a game, but to bid farewell to a legendary hair metal band, Mötley Crüe. The band’s career spanned three decades and they ended it all at the birthplace of hair metal - Los Angeles, California. I really enjoyed the show because even though the band has aged staggeringly, they managed to maintain the elements of a hair metal concert – face-melting guitar solos, pyrotechnics, female dancers in skimpy clothing, and to
It was February 8th and all me and my best friend Emalie could do was think about the concert. We were finally able to see and listen to two of our favorite people. For me i was also excited to see Jon Bellion who was one of the opening shows , but so was Judah and the Lion. The concert was being held at the taco bell arena in Boise. Throughout the day i listened to Twenty One Pilots , and even made a little poster saying “Stay Alive” which is kinda like the motto of the band. And wearing any band merch or signature things of the band (Like red beanies, or smearing black chalk on your hands). As soon as i got home i got ready, and waited for Emalie to come pick me up.By the time she had gotten there we were already on our way , we listened
After 15 minutes people were starting to get frustrated because nothing was happening. It is a good thing. Suddenly there was activity onstage and the lights dimmed. the first support band, Slam Cartel, came on. The mosh pit went wild.
Without warning, the lights went dark. This was the moment I had been waiting for. My adrenaline went through the roof. The time had finally come that I would get to see and hear my first live concert.
After the show had ended, I felt slightly empty. I had waited years and months for that night, and it was over in the blink of an eye. Although I was sad that the show was over, I felt completely content. Now, when I hear their songs, I get to remember what it felt like to hear the band perform them live. I can watch the videos and try to wrap my mind around how it was real. Going to my first concert was an unparalleled experience that I will always cherish. The ambiance, the band’s performance and the unity the audience
