About a quarter (24%) of US citizens own a firearm (Clark). However, this gun culture creates negative effects on America. Mass and accidental shootings are a growing issue in the United States. In 2015, there was 355 mass shootings in the US recorded (Follman). Also, according to the FBI, from 2000 to 2012 there have been about 200,000 homicides with about two-thirds done with firearm (Weisser).
