Finding Strength Within The Scriptures
(Phil 4:13)
Good evening church. I want to thank JB and the elders for giving me another opportunity to get up here and share the word of GOD. I want you to turn to Phil 4:13 that will be the key text for tonight. There comes a time in everyone’s life were we need a pick me up whether it be because of (finical problems, a major incident like tornado came through, hurricane, earthquake, or a house fire, a loss of a love one that came unexpected, family problems) Whatever it maybe we just need a pick me up. Well I titled tonight’s lesson Finding Strength Within The Scriptures. One of my favorite verse in the bible is Phil 4:13 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength. I carry around a coffee cup at work with this verse on it. Because it reminds me that no matter the struggle or the problem I can get through it because I have Jesus is on my side. My goal here tonight is give some scriptures that you may be able to look at for strength in your everyday life. But first in order to find the strength within the scripture we must open a hearts to Gods will and not our own. We must also accept Gods will and that his answer might not be exactly what we are looking for but as long as we keep an open mind we will see that he does answer our prayers. We have to place are self and are faithful fully in God or we might miss Gods plan for us. I remember hearing JB speaking on praying for patients and that we may ask for patients but it might not come to us the way were looking for it. It may come in a test of trying our patients further then we were expected because we ask to give us more patience and understanding( speak on experience). So let’s look at some of the ...

...sh, but everyone to come to repentance.
Then you must be baptized Mark 16:16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned., Act 2 :38 38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Once you do all these things then you will know the scriptures as it reads in Gal 3:22 But Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.
You will be given the strength to do all things as it is written in Phil 4:13. If you need to be baptized don’t wait for tomorrow because tomorrow is not promised to be there or need the prayers of the church please come forward as we sing the invitation song.
“In baptism every Christian has enough to study and to practice all his life. He always has enough to do to believe firmly what Baptism promises and brings – victory over death and the devil, forgiveness of sin, God’s grace, the entire Christ, and the Holy Spirit with his gifts. In short the blessings of Baptism are so boundless that if timid nature considers them, it may well doubt whether they could all be true.”
On one hand, baptism is a sacrament that any human must have because it is a lifelong process of salvation and it is necessary for eternal salvation. Since Adam’s sin, all human is born spiritually death; therefore a newborn in spirit is necessary, in order for humans to have “spiritual eyes open” It will keep the person closest to God, because “open eyes” helps to discriminate good from bad during the person journey in life. Baptism present two parts, an outward and sensible sign, and an inward and spiritual grace implied, but baptism is not sanctification by itself. Furthermore, baptism is the Church’s external affirmation and proclamation of prevenient grace; it is an initiation and incorporation into Christ Holy church. During baptism church as a whole play an active role; first, by welcoming the new member, then after baptism, the church provides the nurture that makes possible a comprehensive and lifelong process of growing in grace. On the other hand Communion celebration by using bread and wine is a remembrance of Jesus death, and resurrection and the waiting until He comes again. The way in which bread and wine is converting into Jesus’s body and blood is a mystery. When during celebration Jesus says “for you” it connotes expiating and sacrifice meaning to liberates “us” sinners. Participate in communion

That’s what you get when you’re in mixed company – the saved and the unsaved. But today it’s just us, the saints of God. And if you’re like me, after being rejected all week, you need a recharge of your spiritual battery. So let’s recharge our spirits by linking up to one of my favorite power sources of scripture…Psalm 113.
I grew up in a home with a family that attend church weekly and was active in the church family. I knew about God and about His son but I never remember the story of salvation and the personal need for a savoir. As a teenager I walked away from the religion that I thought did not offer my anything. In my thirties, my husband was diagnosed with cancer and I immediately started my negotiations with God. Little did I know that He was not a negotiator but it was during this time in my life that I needed God more than He needed me. Since accepting the gift of God’s love, the salvation of a Savoir, and the renovation of my heart, I look to God for the path of my life. I share Gods truth through my career change to a Christian nob-profit that’s vision is to share God’s love to the community through the platform of pregnancy care and family services. Personally I have fulfilled God’s call to help the less fortunate by adopting a sibling group and participating and supporting mission trips to third world countries to support his children and missions there. My final piece of God’s plan I feel lead to complete is to volunteer my professional expertise and finances to work with a mission group that provides laboratory services to third world mission hospitals. I have done one trip for them and am currently planning a trip to Honduras in the new year. My day to
...ou believe your verse, I'll believe mine." or in other words, there is no Truth, just opinion. In actuality, the verses are all true. You must believe, repent, and be baptized.
finding the problems and circumstances must always lead to the scriptures and allow the client to see the work of God being uplifted in the situation
In Acts 4:12, we are told that there is no other name that we can accept salvation by, except by the name of Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “Whosoever therefore shall confess me before me, him I will confess also before my father which is in heaven” (Matthew 10:32). After you have spoken with the pastor and repented of your sins, he usually brings you to the front of the church and lets the members know you have confessed your faith in Christ. After your public profession of faith you follow the pastor to the door where all of the members can greet you and show their joy for you becoming a brother or sister in Christ. This simple, yet critical confession is the final step to gaining salvation and eternal life with
Scripture holds a prominent role in the sermon. In 2 Timothy 4:2, it states to “preach the word in season and out of season”. The Greek word for preach is ‘Kerusso’. It means to be a herald (proclaim) and to preach (announce) a message publicly and with conviction (persuasion). In this verse, Paul gave Timothy and the others ministers a charge and a commission to preach the Word. In order to be an effective preacher, the Word of God must be the foundation. In 2 Timothy 3:16, it states that “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness”. In other words, the Word of God was written by man, God-breathed and divinely inspired. The Scripture is important because it creates an argument or appeal that is persuading the audience to do something. The substance of our preaching must come from the Bible because the Bible comes from God. As messenger and ambassadors of God, we are obligated to speak the mind and thoughts of God.
As we search the word of God with passion and earnestly, the Holy Spirit will illuminate us, so we can grasp his will in our life “until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.” (Eph. 4:13).
Today's Gospel reading shows us that the Lord is with us through times of trial… or when the storms of life get to be too much to handle. Whether He calms the storm as he did for the disciples, or asks us to let him walk through the storm with us, as Paul talks of in 2 Corinthians, or gives us the strength to fight against it, as He did for David while up against Goliath; he is always with us. He does not ignore the cry of the afflicted.
Christians must come to understand that in order to serve God and His people well, we need to know and live better my Catholic Faith. We must study and read about the Church’s teachings and traditions to appreciate them better, but we must also allow the Holy Spirit to guide us in our Christian lives. He will do it! God’s Spirit desires to form a close relationship with each and every one of us. Indeed, He is the Great Unknown Companion within us that we already received in our baptism to form us perfectly into God’s image and likeness. However, if in Baptism we receive the Spirit to bear Christ 's image, it 's equally true that in Confirmation we are sent by God in that same Spirit to bear true witness to Christ. With the Holy Spirit we are sent to share with others the wonders that God has done, and to share that God is alive and that God is love. Therefore, open your heart to the Holy Spirit’s presence and action in your life; always invite Him with desire, faith, and fervor to fill you completely; and pray to Him constantly for wisdom, strength, guidance, and courage. God will do it – yes, He will! God bless you
Paul tells us to “fight the good fight of faith” (Tim. 6:12). We must not hold on to unbelief. When we give ourselve...
When becoming a christian when you accept God as your savior and are ready to serve him you will need the holy spirit, without the holy spirit its going to be really hard. Holy spirit keeps you safe, keeps you out of doing bad thongs, makes you want to do good things for God. The bible refers to Gods holy spirit as his “hands” or “fingers”(Luke 11:20). Just as craftsman uses his hands and fingers to do his work, God has used his spirit to produce such results as the following: The universe, The bible, The miracles and the preaching he did for his people. By referring to Gods spirit as his “hands”, “fingers”, the Bible shows that the holy spirit is not a person. A craftsman 's hands cannot function independent of his mind and body likewise, Gods holy spirit operates only as he directs it. The Bible also compares Gods spirit to water and associates it with such things as faith and knowledge. From the Bible, Stephen was given a miraculous heavenly vision, he only saw two people, not three but he was filled with holy spirit he gazed into heaven and saw Gods glory and Jesus standing at Gods right hand. The holy spirit was Gods power in action, enabling Stephen to see the vision. To get the holy spirit you have to pray about it, its a gift from god so you have to want it to get it so then god will fill you with holy spirit. You receive Christ by faith. You live by faith. Everything you receive from God, from the moment of your spiritual birth until you die, is by faith. Do you want to be filled with the Holy Spirit? You can be filled right now, by faith. You receive Christ by faith. You receive holy spirit by faith when you believe you will get, God will give it to you. Though you are filled with the Holy Spirit by faith and faith alone, it is important to recognize that several factors contribute to preparing your heart for the filling of the Spirit. First, you must desire to live a life that
First, the Day of Pentecost empowered believers to promote the mission of Christ, which is to go and make disciples of others. According to David Watson and Paul Watson, “A disciple is one who embraces and obeys all the teachings of Christ and endeavors by word and deed to make more disciples.” It is through the Holy Spirit that believers are given the power to witness and draw others to the message, work, and salvation of Christ. The apostles could not have implemented such a great mission without the work of the Holy Spirit. Likewise, believers must repent and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit to achieve the mission given by Christ. Believers cannot preach the gospel without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. It is through the power of the Holy Spirit as the church comes together, salvation is given, and love is
