Feminism is the idea that all sexes should be equal no matter their religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity, disability, or social status. It would be a reasonable assumption to think that we do not need feminism anymore since we are in the 21st century. Sadly, that assumption is incorrect, America still desperately needs feminism in order to grow as a country. Rape culture, paternity leave, the gender pay gap, workplace harassment, and countless other issues are the reason feminism is still necessary in today’s society.
There is an extensive amount of people that believe feminism is outdated and unnecessary because we have suffrage, the right to work, equal opportunities for education, etc… Those people either do not know or ignore details …show more content…

Feminism benefits men, women, and people that identify as genderqueer. We say we are freeing them from having to wear the hijab but the hijab is not what is subduing them, it is a part of their culture.
