As we all know, life reflects Poetry, poetry nurture each soul, poetic beauty of salvation. That is the unchanging values seem to never change in the lives of each of us. When I was young, my mom put me to sleep by the soothing poem. So, I was familiar with the verse. Last week, I read two poems “As I Walked out one evening” and the “The more loving one”, which were written by W.H. Auden. English is m second language, so it is hard to understand the English’s poem by form or theme. However, that is an interesting experience for me anyway. After read, I really like both of them, but I prefer the “As I walked out one evening”, because it relates to human condition such as the lovers and the clocks.
“I’ll love you, dear, I’ll love you
Till China and Africa meet,
And the river jumps over the mountain
And the salmon sing in the street”
Wystan Hugh Auden is a one of the great poets of our time. He has composed hundreds of poems; many of them are popular and recognized by many readers. One such poem is “As I walked out one evening”. While the writer was walking on the street, he heard the singer sing that lovely song which means love will win everything. The form is for this poem is Ballad which could often be set to music. At the first stanza, the writer describes the love between the boy and girl. Auden express how much the boy could do for his love, the writer show that love is the most precious thing in life that people can give each other.
“Into many a green valley
Drifts the appalling snow;
Time breaks the threaded dances
And the diver’s brilliant bow”
This stanza implies the impartiality of time. It won’t favor the brave, talented or unique. Auden means that time is dancing with people in their life. Time is what is to come and ...

I had many good experiences after reading these poems. Each one has different style which made me interested. Not only understanding about the poem, but I can understand more about the background of Auden who is a great poet. Now, I could know more about English’s poem which is very different from Asian’s poem. Anyway, that is a good thing for me because I could learn a new thing for my life.
