In the futuristic timeframe of Ender’s Game. Alien life has been recognized from earth after this alien species, named the Buggers tried to invade earth. That time we had Mazer Rackham, a war hero to save them and while preparing for the next invasion they depend on ender a six-year-old boy to be the next Mazer Rackham.
Ender at just six years of age leaves his family to participate in an extremely rigorous course in which he learns how to be the best commander. This is where he makes many friends and enemies. Andrew Ender Wiggin was a genius. He was bred for these battles. He had a great amount of tactical skills, which allowed him to graduate early from many ranks. All the risk of losing humanity is put in Enders hands he may not know it but it's true and with all the challenges he is given when he fails to meet a requirement extra pressure is put on people such as Graff as he has told everyone that Ender is capable of saving the world from the Buggers. Ender learns from all his mistakes and from the experience, knowledge and skill he gains through out battle school.
The science fiction in Enders game is unbelievably brilliant. The author, Orson Scott Card has done a fantastic job writing the book Ender’s Game. He has established a great connection between the reader and Ender. This is so important because of the way the story is also told from Ender’s view and this makes it a lot easier for the reader to know what Ender is thinking.
Ender meets many of the characters in the battle school, which is in space. Ender is the main character whom enters the book at a young age of just six. Other than Ender we have his siblings, Peter and Valentine, who are trying to take over the world and both of them are battle school reje...

Ender did not wish to annihilate bugger species, as he did not like murder in general. He believed killing the buggers were also a crime as to killing people. He believes that there were more to the buggers than what everyone perceived them to be. And since he nearly killed the entire species, he feels like it is his obligation to help find a new location for the buggers to repopulate. Ultimately, the novel is only a little over 300 pages and overall is an easy read. The only issue I had with the novel was the amount of side characters, making it difficult to remember who was who. Finally, I would recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys fiction novels that pertain to space and defending Earth from a foreign threat.
The boy does, and vows to repopulate the aliens. The book Ender's game is better than the movie Ender’s game due to more detail within the story allowing a better connection with the characters. Crucial elements in Ender’s game are the Bugger threats, which appear in both the book and movie. We see the Bugger threat as the main incentive for a better military. Another crucial element is Ender’s fight with Bonzo which starts, This is a crucial element because it shows that Ender knows what he has to do even if he doesn’t want to.
In chapters one to four in Ender’s Game, many important events occurred. In the first chapter, the author introduces Ender and informs the reader that he will be trained to become the greatest military commander of all time. Then, Ender returns home, after his monitor being taken away, and interacts with his brother, Peter, who threatens Ender that he will easily kill him one day. Later on, Colonel Graff, the director of Battle School, introduces himself at Ender’s house and offers him a chance to be trained in Battle School and eventually convinces Ender to join. As the plot progresses, Ender is shown entering Battle School and his experience with zero gravity. Little does he know, that every move Ender takes is being observed by Graff and
During this time, Ender has control over one thing in his life, that of the mind-control game where he breaks it when he meets the section called The Giant (a no-win scenario to teach about frustration). No-one else passes this point, but Ender, so the A.I. creates a story for him to follow, without knowing that the information is being supplied by the aliens via an instantaneous communication device called the Ansible (created by Ursula K. Le Guin).
Ender has his monitor taken off which results in him being harshly bullied by his brother, getting into fights at school, and he is chosen to go to Battle School, (a training facility for future commanders). In Battle School Ender is picked on and made fun of because of his size. Near the end of Battle School Ender becomes a commander of an army and moves to the top of the leaderboard. Ender is eventually given a break and is sent back down to earth, but he is then sent back up to space this time he is sent command school where he will face the buggers and win. Ender is not allowed to go back down to earth so he chooses to visit another
Throughout my life, there have been many figures and characters that have changed me by altering my perspective. One of these characters is Ender Wiggin from Ender’s Game, by Orson Scott Card. Ender is a very complex character with many admirable characteristics. Ender has influenced my life, leading me to be more proactive, persistent, and empathetic.
He is so highly skilled and intelligent at a very young age. He does many things that the kid’s, years older than him, just begin to do. He is so far ahead of really most of them there; that makes him their only hope. Ender gets sent to command school way before any other kid before him. He did but did not understand why he had to go. He knew he was good, but he was just a young kid. Ender goes through so much stuff at Battle School. He moves around from army to army. He is not very respected at the school because he is so young and it seems like jealousy. Deep down they all know, but no one wants to actually admit it. Ender gets moved, and moved, then he gets put in an army where he is commander. The army he gets to control was not there when he got to Battle School. They brought it back. Dragon Army was the army that he was in control of; that army really never won any battles. To make things “better”, “Ender gets other inexperienced, young kids. The people over the school want to see if he will fail. They give him a battle a day, which never happens. Then Ender gets two battles a day. He even has to face two armies at once. He prevails though, no matter what gets thrown at him and his army. He is sick and tired of Battle School. Then he gets tested one last time. Ender is told it is the last simulation before the real battle. That was the only way Mazer Rackham and the
At school he is bullied for being a third child which is considered socially unacceptable and having made it so far in the program made him a target to other students. After sending a kid to the hospital in self defense Colonel Hyrum Graff confronts Ender at his home and says to him“‘Tell me why you kept on kicking him. You had already won.” “ Knocking him down won the first fight. I wanted to win all the next ones, too”’(19). In that conversation the Colonel was sure that Ender had passed his test and tells Ender's parents what he meant when he said “‘It isn’t what he did, Mrs.Wiggin. It’s why”’(19). Ender at the beginning of the novel is much closer to his sister’s personality inside him while his brother’s personality he tries to keep quiet. Even though he does his best to hide it it is constantly looming and that is the side that the military wants to uncover. The military wants what Ender states to Colonel Graff “‘To be half Peter and half Valentine”’(24). Throughout the story the International Fleet gains a little more than they bargained for as Ender slowly grows into an emotionless
“There are not many teenagers in Ender’s world. Instead, there is a sharp distinction drawn between children and adults, who are often set at odds. Adults attempt to manipulate and control children, who they often see as tools they can use to win their own battles. Children, or at least the smart ones, mistrust adults and often see them as the enemy, and are portrayed in many ways as more intelligent and compassionate. Children are also shown having
Ender no longer relied on his sister for protection. During a conversation Ender and Valentine had, Valentine thought to herself “I know, Ender” How will he hurt me?”(361; ch.13). Valentine’s statement shows that she now fears Ender, but this fear does not stop her love for him. Ender notices the fear within her and responds,“See what I’m becoming, Val?” he said softly. “Even you are afraid of me.”(361; ch. 13). Ender acknowledges the fear within her sister, and now truly realizes that they are just strangers to each other. Also, at the start of the story it shows that Ender is brainwashed by propaganda to believe that the buggers are ruthless creatures that brought the war to Earth. As the story progresses, Ender begins to believe he understands the buggers and realizes that they never wanted war, they were just misunderstood. Once the war was finished, and Ender found a larva with the Queen bugger within it, he devoted his life to protect these species from becoming
Genius boy Andrew “Ender” Wiggin was born to save the world. From the small age of five, Ender had a monitor in his neck that watched him and his actions closely. After getting into a fight, the ISF decides that Ender meets their standards and is good enough for the program. At the age of six, Ender is abruptly taken away from his family on Earth and is sent to Battle School to kill and fight. He is in charge of saving all of humanity from these buggers. In this manner, Ender developed many mental issues due to being taken away from his family at such a young age and being put under loads of pressure. In result, Ender ends up hurting people which makes him feel morally wrong and abused. As for the other characters, they are also victims of child labor. Being forced to battle many times a day, having to sleep for a short amount of time and then learn about wars, battle etc.…., repeat, wash, and dry. Ender winds up realizing that he is being used and manipulated. He goes through many nervous and mental breakdowns caused by the stress, pressure, and isolation from Battle School, Command School, and the Bugger War in general. Additionally, the other characters of Ender’s Game were greatly affected by the act of child labor. Take for example, Petra Arkanian, one of the girls at battle
A child's innocent is their worst enemy, and yet it should never be taken from them . In the view of the young boy he observes something quite unique that he has never seen before from most students around his age in Battle School, that they all “(...) act like – history. Napoleon and Wellington. Caesar and Brutus” (110). Ender compares the students from Battle School to his classmates back at home (Earth). Remembering that back on Earth the kids always were loud, played around, and said dumb things, and seeing that the students in Battle School acted like little adults, he couldn't understand how. With this in mind, Ender is a child, who doesn’t comprehend the truth behind the image. He is looking at something unknown as any child would be,

...is enemy, he became the most ruthless and yet most compassionate commander the world has ever seen in all the wars the human race has withstood. Above all, however, isolation is the tool that made all the attributes transparent and viable to Ender and to the I.F. Beyond the war, Ender became more than just a tool to be used; he became a savior. A savior of not only one, but two different races bent on destroying each other. Ender became the very definition of Hope.
Ender is a special child, he is the 3rd kid in his family and the limit of children you can have is two. Ender was accepted because of his parents religion. Ender was being monitored by the government and had his monitor taken out by the government. Ender is then goes to battle school. Enders main conflict is being in a special child and a trusted child by colonel graff in battle school. Ender being trusted by graff puts a lot of pressure on him to lead the other students. Ender is a standard for other students in battle school. Over the story ender changes his point of view on his importance because of the pressure that is put on him later in the story so he becomes a more focused character. Enders special traits make him a capable commander. “Ender Wiggin isn't a
