In the world today there are many debates whether that zoos are not natural for animals in captivity than the wild. I believe that zoos have an very important purpose in the world for the many animals that are heavily endangered. While some believe that these animals needs to live in the wild because a zoo is not identical to the wild in North, Central, South Americas, Africa, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Zoos all over the world are very useful for animals that are endangered of being extinct because what us humans does to their habitat or over hunt for certain animals. ”Zoos help raise the number of endangered animals but their artificial settings restrict the natural behavior of animals” (Animalsake). “The shocking evidence of animal abuse in some circuses, dolphinariums, and zoos have pushed many environmental and wildlife activist groups to campaign for the closure of many of the institutions that keep wild animals in captivity” (netivist.org). “Zebras at the National Zoo in Washington D.C. starved to death because of insufficient or incorrect food, and the same zoo’s red pandas died after ingesting rat poison”(animals.how stuffworks.com). Most people know that zoos help protect many animals from becoming extinct but zoos does more harm than good. In the movie “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” reboot there was a scene where this ape keeper was torturing the apes by spraying them down with a high pressure of water, spitting on them, yelling at them, and using a taser on their cages and shocking them which shows how real ape zookeepers do to real apes instead of treating them like good zookeepers. Some zookeepers accidentally startled the animals and be so afraid of the animal will either kill the animal or get their revenge by drugging the poor animal and physically beat them to show who has dominance and change the animals behavior and make the animal be scared of humans. In both Seaworlds in the United States there has been many deaths of trainers who was killed by Orcas A.K.A. Killer Whales because these animals will resort back into their original killer instinct and attack the trainer and rare cases that the trainer survives from deadly attacks. And what seaworld is doing they are not going to recapture anymore Orcas and send some back to wild or let them live their lives until they die from old
