Zombie Apocalypse

In recent times, people have debated whether or not we would survive the zombie apocalypse. Though zombies do not actually exist in our world at this moment, people wonder if we would survive in case of such an event. As a matter of fact, here are many existing articles on the subject of zombies like “From CDC - Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse” by Public Affairs, “These States Are Totally Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse” by the Huffington Post, and “Pentagon document lays out battle plan against zombies” by Jamie Crawford. While some people believe that the human race would succumb to the zombies, there is more than enough evidence to assure that humanity will survive the zombie apocalypse, including the advanced technology …show more content…

On the FEMA website, there is an article that explains this plan the CDC has. One such guideline that the CDC offers is that “you should sit down with your family and come up with an emergency plan. This includes where you would go and who you would call if zombies started appearing outside your door step.” (Doc. 2, Line 23) The reasoning to come up with a family plan is to make sure your family knows what to do and who to call in the case of an emergency like that. The CDC has even created an emergency kit for the zombie apocalypse, including items like Water (1 gallon per person per day), Food (stock up on non-perishable items that you eat regularly), Medications (this includes prescription and non-prescription meds), Tools and Supplies (utility knife, duct tape, battery powered radio, etc.)” (Doc. 2, Lines 14-17) among other items. According to the article, Alaska would most likely survive the zombie apocalypse, and they “are not surprised. Military personnel? More than anywhere else in the nation. Veterans? Loads of them. Guns? Check. Physical activity? Check. Survival skills? This is Alaska, for Pete’s sake. Throw in some zombie knowledge (and not to mention soul-crushing vastness and isolation) and you’ve got yourself the number one state in the nation for surviving the zombie apocalypse.” (Doc. 3) However, the least likely to survive the zombie apocalypse is New Jersey. As the Huffington Post humorously said to New Jersey as if they were a single person, “If it weren’t for Washington, D.C., you’d be dead last in survival skills, dead last in zombie knowledge and dead last in gun ownership. So why isn’t D.C. dead last? Because at least they know how
