Golf is an awesome thing! Everyone can play at all ages, anywhere, together, or alone. Well, you can thank Scotland for that, it all started in 1300s in Scotland, they started playing by hitting a ball at a target with a stick. Then later, golf became an interesting sport. The first golf club in America was St. Andrew Golf Course and that’s when it started but now golf can earn you so much money for example; in 2009 Tiger Woods became the richest athlete of all time with one billion dollars in career earnings from golf. So, have you ever wondered is golf a sport? I honestly don’t know but in my opinion golf should be considered a sport with everything it has.

Besides that, golf also falls under the purview of the athletic departments of colleges and universities, and is subject to the authority of the NCAA. Which works out perfect if youre amazing at it. Colleges act the same with golf just as other sports. Next, baseball is a sport, when you hit the baseball with the bat, you want it to go far and that’s how you get better. Same exact thing with golf, you try to hit the golf ball as far as you can or close to the hole as possible. Basketball is similar when trying to aim for the hoop, golf you are trying to aim for the hole. Golf is almost the same as other sports.

In conclusion, I have shown the positive benefits of golf and how it's the same and different from other sports, but really to show you that golf is a sport. From where it started in Scotland to where it is today, it’s come a long way. I hope to teach people that golf is different and amazing just like other sports. I play golf in the summer with my dad and brother and I love it. So, keep golf a sport
