I chose an article titled “World War 2” taken from the Colombian Electronic Encyclopedia. It is a detailed account of World War 2. It explains how the war began, as well as major events throughout it and how it affected the United States. I found that this article related to our book in many ways. The story takes place during the time period in which World War 2 occurred and the characters entire lives revolve around it. The author begins by introducing the cause of World War 2 and the events that took place before it reached the United States. A majority of it was influenced by World War 1. However, all attempts to remain neutral were los... ... middle of paper ... ...train there. Many of the students just think that growing up just to fight and possibly die is their only goal they should try to achieve. All in all, I thought this was a very informative article. It was very interesting to learn about the events of the war and how they impacted the United States. I think it would be very hard to have to live thinking that my only purpose is to go out and fight. However it just became a way of life for these students. I also liked how I was able to easily relate the information to the book, and could better understand what the characters were going through after reading this article. World War 2 was one of the most traumatic battles in history and managed to affect everyone during the time period. Works Cited "World War II."
