Throughout the film Iron Jawed Angels, women work hard to gain their right to vote. During this time a group of women called NAWSA was working hard to put their ideas about equality out there, but this wasn’t enough. Eventually a group of women broke off from NAWSA and formed the NWP. This group consisted of younger women who took much riskier action. They were dedicated to receiving the right to vote and would stop at nothing. They would participate in women’s marches and stood outside of the president's house with banners insisting on him passing the amendment.
