Texting and Driving Should be Illegal in all States. Why would you do something that could possibly cause harm to someone else? Crashes occur daily because of people that are driving distracted. These people are putting the lives of everyone they share the road with in danger. Texting and driving should be illegal in all states because it is a danger to our children and passengers, Teenagers are inexperienced, and there are more accidents cause by texting. The first reason we need to stop texting and driving is to protect the children and passengers in the car. In 2013 there were around 3,000 deadly crashes that we because of distracted driving. Of those 3,000 crashes there were around 300 that killed teens. Some crashes are caused by parents that get worried about their children that they text their children. People get so distracted that they stop paying attention to road. This generation has turned to their cell phones rather than drinking and driving. But teenagers are increasingly buying cell phone which allows for more distractions. Officials have reported that texting and driving can be just as bad as drinking, drugs, not wearing a seatbelt, and tanning devices. A driver on the phone is just as bad as an intoxicated driver. They have the same reaction time as the intoxicated driver. There were around 450,00 dead or injured last year thanks to distracted driving. The laws against texting and driving are ineffective. The laws that ban texting and driving are pointless when it comes to a GPS. They are not banned but they are just as harmful and distracting as cell phones. Even though there are speeding laws in place people still speed. So why would people listen to a law against texting and driving.
