There is a severe blizzard warning for the whole United States! Children are going soft at an alarming rate, turning into snowflakes, due to recently passed laws about the “dangerous” game of dodgeball! This may sound absurd, but I kid you not, dodgeball is being condemned by parents and teachers all over the country. This sounds ludicrous, but many adults believe that dodgeball is demeaning and hurtful. To many others, dodgeball is the exact opposite. The game may have its pros and cons, but keeping it can have so many more positive outcomes. Dodgeball teaches kids vital life lessons including, teamwork, dealing with failure, and being a respectful winner. “Buddy Up,” a dodgeball reference, is a game tactic where players team up and throw dodgeballs in sync. This teaches students how to act as a team to reach a goal. Dodgeball can also show kids that failing is not the end of the world. Let me say it again, taking away dodgeball will NOT eliminate all pain. It’s only just the beginning. If dodgeball is banned, kids will still get hurt and humiliated. Other games will continue to be outlawed until all we are left with is “TAG, You’re special,” and “Duck, Duck, Duck.” Bernard Goldberg, an American writer, journalist, and political pundit, says that, “The ‘Ban Dodgeball’ movement is part of an even bigger movement, which is being spread by Phys.
