A person who has integrity is someone who can be trusted and is considered to be honest. Academic integrity is important because it has to deal with being fair. This means that the work that you put forward is your own and that it is unique. It also means that you haven’t copied anyone’s work without their permission. You should treat others work with respect by giving them credit and citing the source where you received the work from. If you don’t cite your work and give the source credit, you are plagiarizing other people’s work. Citing others work makes sure that you didn’t give yourself the credit for the work that others have already done. This is one way how academic integrity is important when you are doing something that is school related. The second way how academic integrity is important is because of the trust that people have with each other.
