Throughout my high school career, I’ve been recognized as a well rounded student. I engage myself in team related sports that require teamwork and reliability, extracurricular activities that require responsibility and patience, all while managing to keep up with my academics.
During my freshman year of highschool, I’ve dedicated my time and hard work to all activities offered by my former high school located in Marshall, Alaska. I was apart of the volleyball team, girls basketball team, and a native youth olympics athlete. By participating in these athletic sports, I’ve acquired lifelong teamwork skills. As for the rest of my high school adventure, I was accepted for an enrollment to a boarding school located in Sitka, Alaska. Attending Mt. Edgecumbe High School as a three year senior has been a great privilege. I’ve expanded my education and experience and adapted to new roles of responsibilities that further developed a strong sense of independence and meaning in myself. As a student of MEHS, I’ve engaged my time in many school clubs. I participated in the short-lived Tsunami Bowl Science Club. I was also apart of the award winning radio show, The Edge KCAW, I attended three consecutive years of a marine biology science based Whale Fest. I’ve also attended the Southeast Music Fest for two consecutive years as a participant in our school’s choir ensemble. I was also an active member of our school’s Battle of the Books club. As a senior, I’ve also been elected as our class representative in student government council, voted Pep Club treasurer, and participated in our volleyball team.
