One of the most inspiring quotes that Chris Gardner has said is, “The future was uncertain, absolutely, and there were many hurdles, twists, and turns to come, but as long as I kept moving forward, one foot in front of the other, the voices of fear and shame, the messages from those who wanted me to believe that I wasn't good enough, would be stilled.” (6). Regardless of what anyone has ever told whether good or bad it was always up to me to listen. People tend to bring your hopes, and dreams down due to them not achieving their own goals. One is to “walk along the beach which is a great place to start reflecting on what you’re passionate about” (Garth 1). Back at home I would do this for most of my time when I was not occupied. Of course, this was when I did not have as many responsibilities as I have now been in college. Although, I did this the only thing on my mind was me attending college. So, I would say this first step would not help, but a second option is to see what energizes myself. Nature is a natural way to gain revitalize the energy a person can have inside (Garth 2). For me personally what energizes me the most is learning things in general and implementing it in my daily life. Recently I learned more about fitness and was able to start going to the gym. Not only did I learn that what a person eats is a huge contributer to fitness, but when I exersice it relives my stress and gets me energized. When I am in English class for example and my teacher explains how not correctly citing a source is consider plagerizing. I can use what I learned in class and implement it in other papers, although I would not consider learning general knowledge is consider a passion. I came across an article from the data base, where a couple who were on the older side never lost their passions. When I mean old the husband Jack 93 years and, his wife Mary was 87 years of age. Jack specifically was an artist since childhood, Jack made paintings (Barteld 1). At the age of eight Jack already knew that painting was going to be his career for the rest of his life. Now Jack is 97 and still painting, when he speaks about painting “his eyes gleamed like unblemished crystals. He had never worn glasses.” (Barteld 1).
