Leadership doesn’t mean you’re rich, well known, liked, or respected but it does mean you are a passionate, caring, and authentic. Leadership means you care about something so much you are willing to risk everything you have for this belief or idea. Leadership is doing whatever you can in your power to make things better for those around you. Although, that is the definition of leadership is important, the characteristics that make a person a leader are just as important. A leader must be inspiring, they must be able to invite and welcome others.
To be one, I think a hero should put others first before themselves and should affect other people around him in a positive way. They should be very brave, considered as leaders, humble, and should not be selfish in anyway as this is what makes them different than others. They should also be kind, caring and have patience with others and themselves. I think anyone who is willing, when necessary, to put their life on the line in an attempt to save the life of others can be classed as a hero.
These people make every effort to go for what is just slightly out of reach. They might not be noticed or praised for what they have done; they do it to make a positive difference in the world with or without a title. Sanborn believes that nothing is too small, and all the choices that are made have a ripple effect on everyone. Leaders are not out to make themselves happy, they are here to make a positive difference. In addition, having firm moral and ethical character is more memorable than any person with a title could be.
Just because you are the leader does not mean that every decision you make has to be made all alone. Remember to be inspiring to those you lead and motivate them if times get tough. Also remember to encourage others to come forward with their abilities and talents. Motivate them to step up and take on a challenge. The final thing in my philosophy is to do what makes you happy.
Therefore, good leaders should know who they are and have a clear understanding of their own strengths and weaknesses. They must lead with honesty and purpose convincing others that they are worthy of being followed. Real leaders stand on principles and are unwilling to compromise those principles for power, money, or status. Leaders are not just born although some people do have an innate gift for leadership. However, good leaders are willing to learn and discover new ideas recognizing their limitations and weaknesses.
Good leaders acknowledge when work tasks are difficult or frustrating but don’t let it bring them or their team down because they are able to envision and convey the reason for what they’re doing. They can deploy humor, including dark humor, to lighten the mood even when things are not going well. Even in the face of challenges, good leaders will keep a positive outlook. Above all, they will lead by positive example. The most effective leaders must create and exemplify a culture where doing the best work and going above and beyond even when confronted by obstacles is the norm
Finally, another point that helps me from my definition of a leader is most of all a leader needs to be trustful, tolerant, kind and this will help them be a great person to get along with. Without trust in the leader nobody will follow someone who cannot be trusted because the leader will look as if they will not accomplish
Many people think that one person cannot make a difference in the world, but volunteering teaches a person to at least try to make a difference in one person’s life and to build on that. Additionally, volunteering teaches a person to be leader who can inspire others to volunteer. Volunteering is an incredibly didactic experience that will forever inspire the volunteer to be a better person.
In my view most important character of a good leader is that they must be compassionate. Having a personality of caring about people is important. You can?t be a good leader unless you generally like people. That is how you bring out the best in them. No matter what credential they have and how much experience they have in administration but without being compassionate they can't ever become a responsible and successful leader.
Ethics also includes the moral codes or values that a person holds, which are more personal than the codes of ethics. Some of the moral codes and values that I hold include; doing good to others, being fair to all, respecting others and their needs for privacy, being honest and ensuring that I contribute to the society in the best possible way. I believe that one should do good to others even when others do not do the same in return. The way others choose to treat a person should not determine how that person treats them because if the nature of that individual is to do good, then external factors should
