Free College Education for Deserving Lower-Income Students

Higher education, for low-income high school graduates can become a burden to their families and futures. For many high placed jobs it is ensured that their employees have some kind of postsecondary education; but most students will not go anything beyond a high school diploma. Different reasons range as to why students are not exceeding in their education and one of them is college is simply unaffordable. This is why students should be provided with at least two years of free college education if they show to be progressing in their high school classrooms. President Barack Obama has already created a proposal in his State of The Union Address speech that can make this a reality for all American students. Also with countries, we are competing to be at the top and as for where we are placed for the country with the most holders with degrees we are at rank 13th. Although, America is known for their productivity in their economy the level of education impacts these type of results and unless we focus on graduating to attain a degree we cannot become number one. But with President Barack Obama setting up new changes by "By 2020, America will once again have the highest proportion of college graduates in the world"(Barack). The student loan "debt has passed $1 trillion... Nearly 20 percent are in default on their student loans" in the United States. Many schools and jobs encourage students to further on their educations but how could students keep up with the total cost of college? Ironically, a strong educated workforce is what will help maintain America in shape but college prices have been going nowhere but up.
