Did you know that Muhammad Ali was one of the best championship boxers ever? Muhammad Ali was a professional African American championship boxer in the 19th century. Early on in the year 1945 Muhammad Ali was born in Louisville, KY and was the oldest in his family and had a brothers named Rahman Clay, Muhammed ali’s parents were Cassius Marcellus Clay,sr. and Odessa Grady Clay his father was a sign painter who also loved to act, sing, and dance,his mother worked as a cleaning lady when money was tight . When Muhammad Ali was 6 when his biology mother died and he became an orphan, until the next two years past and his grandfather took care of him until he died and Muhammad Ali was 8 years old. When Muhammad Ali grow older he attended Central High School he was a great student. Then when Muhammad Ali turned 12 he started with his carrier of a championship boxer started he was inspired by Joe Martin to try boxing and soon saw that he had talent. Muhammad Ali met his first wife, Sonji Roi, approximately one month before they married on August 14, 1964 after she died in October 11, 2005,Chicago, IL. Then he married Belinda Boyd and had 4 children with him. In 1977 Muhammad Ali married Veronica Porsche Ali and divorced in 1986 and had 2 children and one of them is a professional boxer and has a husband and no children. Now Muhammad Ali is married to Yolonda Williams and they have 1 child together and live happy. Some of Muhammad Ali’s achievements were like in 1959 he won the National Golden Gloves Light Heavyweight Champion and then in 1959 he won National Amateur Athletic Union champion and more great trophies. Remnick goes into some detail about Ali's private live, including his religious conversion, his connection with Malcolm X, and his brief marriage to and divorce from Sonji Roi. He lets us in behind-the-scenes on some sports-writers, as well as on Norman Mailer, Angelo Dundee (Clay/Ali's trainer), and the bout between world champion Floyd Patterson and contender Sonny Liston. His primary focus, however, is on Clay/Ali's fight with Liston after Liston defeated Patterson.
In the late 1980’s Muhammad changed his life around. He and his wife had separated, he converted to Islam, and he joined the U.S. Army (Biography, par 4). He later changed his name to Muhammad (Death, par 2). He was stationed in Washington State. There he married Mildred Green. They ended up having three children. Being in the army was good for Muhammad. He served in Germany and the Middle East and was skilled in marksman (Biography, par 4, 5).
The story of how young Cassius Marcellus Clay wound up in boxing has been told time and time again. It reads as if it a movie script. However, this story is better than fiction. Clay was born on January 17, 1942 in Louisville, Ky. Growing up, Clay understood his place in the framework of the country he was a black child of the middle class. But Toni Morrison, who worked on Ali's autobiography as a young editor, noted that was not the best situation in which to be raised. Because not only was he middle class, "but black middle class, black southern middle class, which is not white middle class at all." (1)

Jackie Robinson, Muhammad Ali, and Wilma Rudolph were some of the most talented African Americans who ever took steps on planet Earth. Jackie Robinson was the first African American to play professional baseball in 1947 (Swaine). Muhammad Ali was one of the most talented, smart and hard working human beings.Wilma Rudolph was the first African American to win three gold medals in one Olympic event (Roberts). African American athletes have impacted U.S. history as demonstrated by Jackie Robinson, Muhammad Ali, and Wilma Rudolph.
He shows his unconditional love when he suddenly packs up and leaves all he has ever known, “‘[Ali and Hassan] can’t live [there] anymore...life here is impossible for [them] now”’ (106). He knew the pain his son was mentally and sometimes physically enduring while he lived there, and he wanted to get Hassan away from there, and gave up his whole life for him. Tupac Shakur was born on June 16 1971 and died on September 13, 1996 even though he died at a young age he did a lot with his life. Growing up Tupac mother and some of his family were part of a group called Black Panther Party later their ideas became part of his songs and poems. Growing up and moving around New York as much as he did make him have a hard childhood. Tupac mother taught him about radical politics, other than that Tupac saw his mother struggle with substance abuse problem. Growing up was never easy for him he was shot 5 time during a mugging and the next year got sentenced to 4 and a half year for sexual assault. In the 80s Tupac and his family moved to California where he joined a hip-hop group and had a hit song. After their hit song Tupac decide to go solo where he did great. In 2010 he had sold over 75 million albums making him one of the best-selling rappers to ever have live. His songs and poems were about major topics not just nonsense, they were about violence and hardship in inner cities racism and other social problems. On September 7, 1996 he was shot many times by a drive by and ended up dying 6 days later, but he lived on thought his poems and music and people still can relate to the stuff he wrote.

Shortly after winning the Gold Medal, Ali started looking for better opportunities by saying, “that was my last amateur fight, I’m turning pro, but I don’t know exactly how. I want a good contract with a good manager.” Ali felt that he was on top of the world after winning in the Olympics and felt confident that people of the U.S. would be proud of his accomplishment as he brought home the “Gold”. He lived in Louisville, Kentucky where he experienced discrimination and racial prejudice towards himself and his family, which led him to his fascination towards boxing. Later in his life, he would win the Olympic gold medal for boxing in 1960 and became the world heavyweight boxing champion in 1964, and was the first fighter to recapture heavyweight champion three times. But Clay was not only a boxer, he was also a philanthropist and social activist with astonishing effrontery, he spoke out against problems such as race, religion, and politics that cause him to become such a controversial figure.

He was the first boxer to win the Heavyweight Championship 3 different times. He had a great personality and was liked by the people. During his life, he made big decisions that changed the course of his life completely. Muhammad Ali's journey through life was a great inspiration for African American people, but Ali himself deserves the admiration of everyone.
