What if one had just learned that they had intensified hearing and sight? The apprentice, Dovepaw, in Warriors Fading Echoes, learned just that. She learns many things that happen around her camp, like a life-threatening tree about to fall. Will she get everyone out in time? Also, this novel blends the elements of tragedy, suspense, fear, adventure, and sadness. Warriors Fading Echoes, a juvenile fiction novel by Erin Hunter, is thrilling, tragic, and gives the reader a feeling of adventure; this story is eye-catching and has nothing that should be change. Erin Hunter, the author of the Warriors series, in reality, doesn’t exist. Erin Hunter is a pen name for six people Kate Cary, Cerith Baldry, Gillian Philip, Inbali Iserles, Victoria Holmes, and Tui T. Sutherland ("Erin Hunter Biography."). An example of tragedy is, “’I can’t move,’ Briarpaw croaked. Her hind legs were pinned. She screeched as the beech trembled again” (Hunter 149). In the Thunderclan, a huge tree fell and trapped two cats killing one of them. The other cat, Briarpaw, had her hind legs pinned under a beech tree. The reader could find this tragic because a warrior cat’s hind legs are essential for survival. On the other hand, an example of suspense in this novel is, “’The whole tree’s moving!’ Dovepaw shrieked. ‘Get out of there’” (Hunter 143). This is set right after a beech tree fell in the Thunderclan camp. Dovepaw, a warrior cat who is one of three cats that were chosen by Starclan that have extremely sharpened senses, sensed a tree falling on the camp. This brave warrior had gotten everyone to safety except her master, Lionblaze. A reader of this book might be able to relate because they care about others.
