What My Mom Mean To Me

If there’s one thing that this world has taught me, it’s that you can always count on the people that love you for anything--be it advice, support, or even just someone to listen to you. One such person that I can rely on for these things is my Mom, Jennifer Allam. She is a hard-working, intelligent mom of three other kids beside myself, who deserves all of my respect and admiration. I know I can count on my mom to give me opportunities to excel, work hard to give me a good life (despite how insanely busy hers is) and good experiences, and to help and support me in the worst of times. Mainly, that year I had to accept the fact that I could no longer succeed in school and slack off, too. I was all out of sorts. I never had to work hard; school just came naturally to me. So of course, when fifth grade launched a mass of assignments right at my face, all with due dates layered over one another, I, the avid procrastinator, slowly started to drown. For the very first time in my whole school career, I got a B in a subject; I remember crying my eyes out. Now, of course, I realize that that really wasn’t such a big deal (and that crying like that was silly of me), but back then it seemed like the end of the world. And right at that moment, when I (dramatically) felt I really wouldn’t make it out of this one, my Mom swooped in and got me right out of that rut. She and I came up with a plan to get me more organized. For some time, it was a really hard process for me, as I stayed stubbornly stuck in my usual ways; however, I reluctantly managed to get back on track with her help. Since then, my state has much improved. That was, without a doubt, the hardest year of my schooling as of right now. Through it all, my Mom was right there with me--and she still
