Clay smiths short film be my brother made in (2009) is unwittingly entertaining and is certainly proving itself to be at the forefront of everyone’s planning list for short film viewing, this short film displays qualities of the human being and people falling into the trap of cultural assumptions in lessening people with disabilities , this film gifts the viewer with a profound sentiment of the significance of belonging and fitting in with our family , also in our community.

The film successfully illustrates society’s prejudicial attitudes against people with disabilities, through the initial reactions of Amanda with her one finger handshake, and Damien with his glare of rejection, representing many people who tend to misjudge others. Richard’s character is similar of Atticus Finch’s. Atticus Finch’s words in Harper Lee’s novel: “You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view.
