First off, the lethal injection itself is inhumane because even though it is a “non-violent” process and it physically doesn’t look violent, it causes severe damage to the human body. After putting him on display, strapped into a hospital gurney, they pump Jon 's body full of chemicals to collapse his lungs and stop his heart. “ The supposedly ‘ non-violent’ lethal injection process literally destroys the lungs and renders all the other organs too toxic for transplantation. “ (74) Another reason that it is inhumane is because they treat it more of as a routine thing rather than the fact that they are taking the life of another human being. The “ process” as the warren calls it, is carefully planned and rehearsed before it actually takes place. “ He also warns us that anyone who in any way attempts to disturb the ‘process,’ as he calls it, will be removed from the witness area immediately.” (81) The last reason why this is inhumane is because it is hypocritical. The death penalty 's purpose is to put the people who did wrong to death, considering the majority of the people on death row are murderers it is hypocritical, because they are killing people for killing
