Hard work is a reasonably straightforward phrase. People work hard to achieve their aspirations but, would prefer to immerse in comfort. Furthermore, I was constantly around people that strive for greatness. Although, they would cease their goals when they have reached a place of comfort. I have never understand why people would stop chasing their goals when they are making progress. To put it differently, My dad consistently told me to work hard and accomplish what he could not, I never knew what he meant by that. As a kid, I always thought he was just giving me a lecture about how I need to focus on school. However, the more I learned as I grew up, I finally get his words. In order to accomplish my ambitions, I have to make money as soon as possible so I can support them and make them proud. In the hopes that their sacrifices were not for nothing. Granted my parents had to abandon everything they have ever known in Vietnam, in order to have a better life. They moved to a country in which they are not accustomed to and try to succeed. Uniquely, I had never understand why my parents did that. We had a somewhat comfortable life in Vietnam, we had a home that was offering us comfort and stability. However, life was not that easy in Vietnam. Vietnam was a somewhat poor country to live in. Life in Vietnam was all about work, people worked every day from five a.m. to nine p.m. to make as little as five U.S. dollars. In particular, their was this lady that used to sell fried bananas from five in the morning to the afternoon and barely made four U.S. dollar a day in front of my house. I was always puzzle on what made her wake up at five a.m. to just sell fried bananas. The obvious answer would be because it was a method of making money for her.
