We need to move on from what has happened in the past. Continuing with what is happening in the present and future is what needs to be focussed on. My opinion, along with many others, believe strongly in this theory. We feel as though what has happened earlier on is over with, and should not be worried about now, while others still feel guilt from the actions our ancestors may have taken, which would be the complete opposite point of view regarding this source. This excerpt is stating that history has taken its toll on our society in a negative way and our job is to stop dwelling on it and instead, restart with a fresh mind. There are many reasons as to why the sins of people's past should be forgotten. People whom were involved and present during certain negative actions had made the decision to go along with it. This means that they are the individuals in the wrong. An example of this could be the african apartheid. The african apartheid was a system of segregation and discrimination that happened in South Africa from 1948 until the 1990s. It allowed for the separation of the whites from the blacks, and gave the african americans less rights. Eurocentrism played a large role in the apartheid as it was brought on by the national party; a group of people that did not believe in the fairness between people of different color.
