In the novel, Lord of the Flies, Golding fills the story with powerful symbolism. One of the complex symbols in the novel is the symbolism caused by the Fire. In the beginning of the novel, the group of boys decide that the way they can get home is to make a signal fire. “We may help them to find us. If a ship comes near the island they may not notice us.
