Imagine “Batman” with better reflexes; this is basically “Spider-Man.” Sounds like a cheap rip-off right? "Spider-Man" directed by Sam Raimi was a great film, for 2002... Tobey Maguire played Spiderman in an oddly fitting way with the perfect acting of a teenager even though he was 25+ years old.

The movie was about Peter Parker (Spider-Man) getting bit by a spider and gaining new spider-like powers along with becoming the city hero; protecting everyone from the "Green goblin." Spider-man swings through New York on a continuous mission to take law enforcement into his own hands. It is almost as if this is Batman' Oh, wait... Spider-man is a slinging, swinging, spider machine in this film. Peter Parker; having been bitten by a radioactive spider, goes home and has convulsions on the floor of his bedroom. Peter wakes up a new man; muscley, no need for glasses. At that moment Peter knew he was a changed kid. Going from teen to adult in 30 seconds, or so it seemed. Peter Parker is then kickstarted into fighting crime as the Green Goblin is created when Norman Osborn inhales a new chemical designed to enhance all human features. They take the green screen effects to a whole new level of, horrible. From Spider-man swinging in the city to Spiderman saving Mary Jane; the special effects ruin the film, making it go from "tolerable" to "garbage." Okay, so you say "the special effects make the movie..." Then explain to me how practically all of the Green goblin's stunts were performed by the original actor (Willem Dafoe), that's right, you can't. When Spider-man is fighting the Green goblin in the final fighting scene, you can see the amount of CGI (computer-generated imagery) being used as Spider-man senses the Green goblin's flyer behind him. This example shows how CGI manipulates the film into looking a lot better, also fooling the audience into thinking the film was
