What does freedom of expression,freedom of speech mean ? Freedom of speech is the first amendment which gives us the right to speak freely without being scared that the government may censor it or use it against you. Although these rights may be restricted if in any way it violates classified information , pornography trade secrets and even if it violates non disclosure agreements. Freedom of speech is limited if by any means it feels it's being used as oppression against someone. The government comes to limit freedom of speech in schools for political reasons. This is done to protect everyone including national security. The freedom of speech is the the right protected under the first amendment and although many parts of freedom of speech are protected there are limitations set. The first amendment protects freedom of religion. Which states you can express your religion as long as it doesn't cause harm while it's being practiced. A good example of freedom of speech being able to express your religion without the fear of the government trying to censor you or the fear of having them come after you.
