The tremendous economic growth in the United States was fueled by Americans desire to expand westward. America’s ability to expand westward was due to the advantage in mining and transpiration that came from industrialization. Mining was a huge advantage in the economic growth due to the entire silver overload. Mining for silver and gold brought prospectors and white settlers into many various areas including Nevada, California, Colorado and many more. Because the standard currency throughout the economy is gold, it was essential to keep the country open to market with European nations.
