The urban legend of the West Virginia Mothman persists to this day. Some say the Mothman appears in times of impending dangers. Others say the legend causes disasters. So, what is the legend of the West Virginia Mothman? The first sighting is said to have occurred November 12, 1966. There were five men, which were digging a grave; in a graveyard. The men reportedly saw the bird-like humanoid. Most reports describe the Mothman as a seven-foot tall humanoid-bird. The Mothman was said to have glowing red eyes, and some reports said the creature made a screaming noise. Most tell that the home of the creature is the old TNT plant from WWII near Mount Pleasant, West Virginia. Around a week after the first sighting, two young couples were out by the old TNT plant in Mount Pleasant when they reported that the creature appeared. The couples were chased by the Mothman and apparently kept up with them while they were driving "100 miles per hour".
