Recommended: Walmart ethics and social responsibility

In 1962, Sam Walton opened his first Walmart Discount store in Rogers, Arkansas. Walmart started as a company that focused on helping customers and communities with discount prices and vision that Mr. Walton had to move the company and his employees forward. To this day, Walmart is still known for these things and more. This company didn 't lose focus on help expanding in communities, caring for the people and making money in the process. Walmart has continued to stay ahead of all it 's competitors through all the changes in technology and is still the largest leading retail of it 's kind.
Walmart has use many strategies to evolve the company into what is is today. The focus on Every Day Low Prices can be seen throughout Walmart Stores.
As a result, they believe in promoting it 's people while offering competitive pay and benefits to it 's full time employees. Walmart has always been known as a place of opportunity and they pride themselves on have great associates. This makes it easy for employees to advance in the company. However, an associate must show hard work , dedication, and your talents will take you as far as you want to go with the company. The majority of their store managers where once hourly associates and now their salaries can be compared to accountants and firefighters. Walmart has proven to be an excellent employer to it 's
After Sam Walton got his start, he surrounded himself with people that had big and great ideas for his company. In later years the company has achieved great levels of success financially and is continuing to grow. This company has great ethical integrity. They also promote ethical education and communication on a global level. According to Sam Walton, “personal and moral integrity is one of our basic fundamentals and it has to start with each of us (http://cooperate.walmart.com/our-story/).” This was a phrase that Mr. Walton believed and he strive to prove excellent customer service through his associates.
According to the three test of a winning strategy, Walmart has excessed these strategies. Walmart strategies did fix the company 's situation. The company started out small, as a result of hard work and determination it is now the largest retailer in the world. They didn 't become complacent as a small company. Sam and his team had a vision for this discount store. The vision was for customer to be able to shop at a low price anytime of the day or night while keeping a friendly atmosphere. This has remained the same as the company has evolved into what it is
