Adam published a part of a journal called Cognitive Benefits of Gaming. The journal part is about how the mind can gain skills from playing action games that are fast paced and needs a good amount of attention. He explains the playing shooter type video games help show faster and more accurate attention allocation, higher spatial resolution in visual processing, and enhanced mental rotation abilities. Marcs book. "Don't Bother Me Mom, I'm Learning!” tells about how video games are part of the twenty-first century and gives examples of how video games teach children how to work together. On page 106 of his book, marc talks about how a simple game like Walt Disney Company’s Toontown players work together to bring down hordes of enemies called cogs. If the cogs are too tough to fight alone then a player has to ask another player for help. The purpose is that it teaches children to learn social skills when fighting or just exploring the video game Toontown.

Laurie Willis author of the book “Video Games”. Shows opposing viewpoints on video games. One opposing view point is how video games can help children learn. It shows that children can learn strategy or critical thinking based on strategic games. Laurie explains that strategic games help develop critical thinking because the players focus on strategic ways to win or figure out puzzles when they are playing strategic video games. Researchers showed that in 2013 playing strategic games for 2 hours helped children’s problem solving skills and critical thinking skills then those who don’t play.
