Conclusion

Communities within Communities Veterans Services Inc., prides itself on helping see that our Veterans and their families are taken care of. An enormous amount of resources are needed to secure the future of our veterans who fought for our country, yet, housing, education, and employment is not adequate to meet their needs especially when transitioning to civilian life.. The veterans needing help are an ethnic blend with just over 90 percent of the residents Black and Hispanic, most are poor with a median household income for a family of four not much above $24,000 dollars a year. Many of our veteran families are living pay check to pay check. If any kind of opportunity for both husband and wife to go to school or get a job is in their near future, then the ability to have free childcare should not be a deterrent.

Project will stand as an example that Veterans and their families can transition from military to civilian life with help from the community. Our organization aims to help 10-20 families on the verge of homelessness by the end of next year here in Charlotte N.C. There is a need for this service in our community and we are committed to assisting our veterans and their families receive it. The future of low-income housing in this community will be answered through public-private partnerships, foundations and grants. We will have the support and backing of the community and the capability of producing and managing affordable housing for the community's low-income veterans and their families, helping them both attain education and careers that will move them into higher salary brackets. The time to move in this project is now to give them the opportunity that so many before them missed out on.
