The evidence provided demonstrates that different bushfires do, in fact, result in varying social, economic and environmental impacts. This difference is linked to both the human and natural factors which help to determine the magnitude of the disaster. The social impacts within Marysville as a result of Black Saturday were severe, with the people of the community being directly affected by the loss of other members as a result of fatalities or people moving away. The Crib Point community did not experience such severe effects, although the initial shock caused by the disaster was evident.
