INTRODUCTION
Over the past 30 years the size of Adelaide has rapidly expanded. New developments across Adelaide are designed to be liveable and competitive and include new ‘green’ alternatives. In 2012 the State Government released The 30 year plan for Greater Adelaide (Sa.gov.au, 2012). The plan takes into consideration an influx of 500 000 people and the creation of over 200 000 jobs.
The intention of this field study is to examine current urban developments at Lochiel Park, Mawson Lakes, Port Adelaide, Westwood and Bowden and assess them against the goals of this plan (refer to Figure 1 ).

The aim of this field report is to discourse the following question:
What are the different methods of urban renewal and redevelopment in Adelaide, and which is the most successful in addressing concepts of sustainability and liveability?

METHODOLOGY
Fieldwork was conducted at Lochiel Park, Port Adelaide, Westwood, Bowden and Mawson Lakes on Tuesday 20th May. (refer to Table 1)
A number of secondary sources were also used to add context to each location. This included:
• Average House prices for each suburb
• Statistical Data from the 2011 census
• Other websites relevant to the topic.

Housing Survey Characteristics of homes were examined and recorded. To gauge the style of housing in each suburb. The Housing Survey was only conducted in Mawson Lakes so we are unable to contrast this to other developments.
