I believe that attending the UNIQ summer school would provide me with the opportunity to speak to current students studying medicine and to gain an insight into what it’s like to study medicine at university. I will be able to speak to them about the application process and how to make my application stand out. From their own experience, they would be able to advise me on how to prepare for the interview process and how to revise for tests needed for medicine such as the BMAT and the UKCAT. Medicine is a highly demanding and competitive career and I believe the best way to further develop my understanding about this career is to have first-hand experience. As I am an A-level student currently studying Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Psychology; I maintain that participating in the UNIQ summer school would help me link skills I have learnt in school to a real work situation and also make me appreciate the relevance of what I have learnt so far therefore increasing my …show more content…

I would be able to list the skills that I have learnt and how it helped further my knowledge and helped me perform better academically and socially. Because of the knowledge and skills I hope to gather in this summer school, and the valuable preparation it can offer for university, I’ll potentially have access to better universities; with better grades and a stronger application with which to apply to the top ones. This also has a direct impact on my CV, as being able to put a very well-respected university on my CV will create a favourable impression with any potential employer. Attending UNIQ summer schools help me develop to transferable skills such as time management, organisation and the ability to interact well with other people.
