Is Lady Macbeth a good wife?

How do we define a good wife? A good wife makes her husband a better man. A good wife should always be the positive influence of her husband's life. By doing this the husband’s bad habit will automatically change. In my opinion, Lady Macbeth is not a good wife. I will further explain my reasons in the following paragraph. Lady Macbeth is a controlling wife. She is selfish, greedy and even dangerous. As a good wife, Lady Macbeth should stop Macbeth from doing anything wrong but Lady Macbeth manipulates him into murdering King Duncan. When Macbeth hesitates and refuses to kill King Duncan, she insults his manhood. She indoctrinate Macbeth to follow her plan and kill King Duncan. Quoting from the act 1,scene 7 of Macbeth, “ We will proceed no further in this business.He has recently honoured me, and I now have the Golden opinions from all sorts of …show more content…

Truly, Lady Macbeth does not appreciate the honours King Duncan has bestowed on her husband. She is determined to convince Macbeth to kill King Duncan, “What beast was it, then,That made you tell me about this plan? When you “dared” to do it, then you were a man; And, in order to be more than what you are, you would Be so much more the man.” This shows how selfish she is. She compels him to follow her plan to kill the king instead of celebrating his promotion. She didn't even let him enjoy praise and admiration from the people. Lady Macbeth is no lady. She is dangerous. She will not take no for an answer. She is determined to have her way. She does not respect that King Duncan has recently honoured her husband. She will not stop until she becomes the queen of Scotland. She will not rest until King Duncan is dead. She will manipulate Macbeth until he follows through with the
