To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is a beloved novel published in 1960. After reading the novel there were some moments and people that I found particularly enjoyable. My favorite part of the novel was when the children went to Boo Radley's house to try to get a look at him. In addition, Atticus Finch was my favorite character in the novel. In my opinion the book was very good. I felt that it really showed the thoughts and actions, both good and bad, of the people in the South during the time of the Great Depression. At some points it was sad and at others it was comical but overall it conveyed the message that it was trying to send and everyone could learn something from it.

In the novel, there were certain parts that were really outstanding. There was a part in the story where the children, Jem, Scout, and Dill, went over to Boo Radley's house to get a good look at him. The children go out one night slightly frightened to try to get a look at him through a loose shutter in the Radley's backyard. The children then see a shadow which frightens them and they run away. On the way home Jem loses his pants while trying to slip under the fence. When the children get back to the their house, Atticus immediately questions Jem's lack of pants. Dill immediately lies and makes up a story about them playing strip poker. I love when Dill makes up this story because I think that it was so clever and funny that he would say something like that. It reminds me when I was younger and would do something with my brother and my mom would question me about a hole in my pants or something, and I made up a story so I wouldn't get in trouble. There were also some really great characters in the novel. One that really stood out was Atticus Finch. Att...

Many movies based on books, have similarities and differences between them. The same goes for To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Although the movie ran smoothly there were many elements missing from it or that differentiated from the book. Of course there were similarities and the overall theme and message of the novel was reached in the movie. Although the book was more detailed, the movie had the same plot line for the most part. There were some high points and favorite characters in both t he movie and in the book and overall both of these works of creations were very enjoyable.
