Have you ever wonder what would happen if your money wasn't worth anything? Will I never experience this ,but its millions of people have back in the day it was called the great depression. In the novel to kill a mockingbird by harper lee we follow the Finch childrens as they live through the great depression.the great depression was a terrible part of history that inspired the novel to kill a mockingbird because in the book everyone was poor and they didn't have money to buy thing they used food and other stuff as currency.

one of the major effects that impact the people lives was 6000 Banks were closed. the reason was 9 million saving accounts had vanished. From my research it said when the accounts vanished, and all the people did not have anything .not too long after that the 85000 businesses went bankrupt and were closed. when all the jobs close the people there do not have any money to pay bills so everyone became homeless. there were two million people homeless people living on the streets when no food shelter and nowhere to go. it was so bad that it was long lines of man and kids trying to get food from soup kitchens and Stands on the streets. it became so bad people couldn't take anymore to the point They thought it was the best thing to just kill themselves since they had no money or nowhere to go. t the Great Depression was really the Great Depression it really put everyone in the funk that he became very well known to everyone that this day was the Great …show more content…

to the citizens of the US they felt like the president didn't do that much for them. Herbert Hoover really did not do anything for the economy and was very useless to the people. he had the tariff so what happened with the World Trade has stopped. one thing the Hoover did was and I quote he hiked taxes as a part of a plan to stabilize the banks by balancing the Federal budget providing confidence for foreign creditors, and to stop them from buying American Gold. this is important because it shows what the world would do if there was no money. to me I understand of why everyone was homeless but to me that's no reason for you to kill yourself over it.In 1933 the government came up with a new way to stop the Great Depression it was called the New Deal. New Deal was made by the Congress and it was used to to end the Great Depression to prevent future depression .”It was three things that the New Deal didn't gave relief that meant that he gave money to the homeless people. Recovering was the second one that meant to give people back their jobs and put a comedy back to the way it was.
