Tim burton is just one out of a lot of amazing directors but, people enjoy his work for not only his amazing story lines nor the famous actors that he uses. But it's the little things that make the movies so interesting. Just like the way he changes the lighting to make the mood change or the way the costumes fit the personalities of the characters, and the symbolism that he uses like light vs. dark. Tim burton also uses a strange type of scenery to show a difference between different people. Plus his style is more of a dark, mysterious, and dramatic which can give a story more meaning. Tim Burton in the movie Edward Scissorhands definitely uses color symbolism near the end of the movie when Edward runs back to the castle and Kim runs after him and Edward is wearing his dark Buckley outfit and Kim is wearing a clean white dress. …show more content…

The people that live in the town dress like their houses. They all wear bright colorful dresses mainly Kim because she is really nice so she wears white and yellow mainly because those are bright happy colors, the wears dark red dress which can show that she is bad because she gives the ladies the idea of Edward being bad and dangerous. Edward, on the other hand, lives in a dark castle so he dresses with black clothes with black hair and buckles all over him. When he comes down to the town they try to cover up his real self with some white clothes with brown pants, but when he goes back to his castle he turns back into the dark outfit. In his other movies, he also uses the costumes to tell good vs evil. For instance, in The Nightmare Before Christmas, Jack the main character wears black striped clothes which show that he is evil/bad. On the other hand, Sandy Claws wears white and red which shows that he is good. Also, in the movie Alice in wonderland The evil queen wears red and the good queen wears white.
