The quote, “All you need in this life is ignorance and confidence, and then success is sure” (Twain) means that by being able to disregard the stupid and worthless things that may arise in life, and grasp the resourceful things, it is not just a skill but rather an act approaching success. I think what Twain is saying is that the people who are dragging you behind in life are the ones who don’t deserve any consideration
The quote by Twain can also be interpreted differently. I thought it meant like if you’re ignorant to the possibilities of failure and you’re confident in your abilities; you’re guaranteed to succeed in life. So if you know that you can fail and you are confident anyways you can succeed. Many of our innovations that we have came from people that didn't know they could do something, but they didn’t care and believed they could. For example, without Larry Page and Sergey Brin we wouldn’t have google. We all know that it didn’t just take a couple of hours to create google. Larry and Sergey failed several times in the process of making google; which is now a multi billion dollar business. …show more content…

The more confidence you have the more likely you will be able to learn. Anyone with confidence will succeed if they are open minded. Ignorance is basically being open minded (like open to learn). For example, employers like to hire people who are lacking knowledge of the skills required for the job. It makes it easier to train them because they are open minded, ready to learn, and they aren’t not set in their previous employers ways of doing things. If they were to hire someone who had already had some experience; they might think they know everything because they have already worked for a different employer that may have been looking for different skill
