Heroism and Bravery in Beowulf

The arrangement in the novel Beowulf concentrates on the main character "Beowulf". Beowulf 's magnanimity to secure his people and the land can be seen all through the book. Even though the poem has an intense tone, where the old days of the kingdom have now been replaced by weakness, Beowulf develops as a hero in the piece. In this way, his demonstrations bring out the fundamental topics of bravery and heroism all through the book.
Among the warriors portrayed in the poem, Beowulf rises as the most heroic. Beowulf is considered a "hero" of the story because he does everything he can for his people. There was barely a time when Beowulf’s reputation was at stake. He serves his king until Hygelac is killed in combat. When Hygelac 's son dies in a feud Beowulf becomes the king and holds the throne for 50 years. The question at the end of Beowulf 's life is whether or not he allows pride to blind him from prudent action. Does he love fame and enjoy being viewed as a hero way too much?

Beowulf is obsessed with keeping his reputation as a hero from the beginning, he is always worrying about how the world will see him and is continuously wanting to prove his part as a leader and a hero. Beowulf is prepared to face his fate and destiny so, as an old man in his late years, Beowulf responds to the call of battling the dragon, to guarantee that his people stay safe. He insists on fighting with the dragon that is terrorizing the countryside. Together, Wiglaf and Beowulf defeat and kill the dragon, but Beowulf is left wounded, he has won every battle but this one. Unferth had known about Beowulf before he came to Denmark, however he knows him just as the person who lost in a less than ideal swimming match. Beowulf and Breca took a chance with their lives with no need, and Beowulf lost the match. This does not look good for his battle with Grendel, Unferth calls attention to it yet in his answer, Beowulf clarifies they were just young men then and on the off chance that he lost this is simply because he needed to battle off some ocean creatures. He revises the story and with this, the Danes are upbeat and full of trust once more.
